# Ingredients:

→ Main Ingredients

01 - 1-inch thick Ribeye or Sirloin Steak (about 1 ½ lbs)
02 - 1 lb large Shrimp, peeled, deveined (tail on or off)

→ Fats for Searing & Sauce

03 - 4 tbsp unsalted Butter, divided
04 - 1 tbsp Olive Oil

→ Creamy Sauce Essentials

05 - 6 cloves Garlic, freshly minced
06 - 1 cup Heavy Cream
07 - 1/2 cup Chicken or Vegetable Broth
08 - 1/2 cup freshly grated Parmesan Cheese

→ Seasonings & Finishing Touches

09 - Salt and freshly ground Black Pepper, to taste
10 - 2 tbsp fresh Parsley, chopped

# Instructions:

01 - First things first, get your steak out of the fridge about 30 minutes before you plan to cook. This helps it cook more evenly. Pat it super dry with paper towels – this is crucial for a good sear, trust me! Season generously with salt and black pepper on all sides. For the shrimp, make sure they're peeled and deveined. I usually leave the tails on because they look pretty, but you do you! Set them aside. This prep makes the actual cooking so much smoother.
02 - Heat a heavy-bottomed skillet (cast iron is my favorite!) over medium-high heat. Add a tablespoon of olive oil and a pat of butter. Once the butter is melted and sizzling, carefully place your seasoned steak in the pan. Sear for 3-4 minutes per side for medium-rare, or longer if you prefer. You want a beautiful, deep brown crust. I always try to get that perfect sizzle sound – it means good things are happening! Remove the steak from the pan and let it rest on a cutting board, tented with foil. Don't skip the resting; it keeps the juices where they belong.
03 - In the same skillet (don't clean it, those bits are flavor!), add another pat of butter. Add your shrimp and cook for 1-2 minutes per side, until they turn pink and opaque. Don't overcrowd the pan; cook in batches if needed. Overcooked shrimp are rubbery, and honestly, that's just sad. Once cooked, remove the shrimp from the pan and set aside with the steak. This is coming together beautifully!
04 - Reduce the heat to medium. Add a little more butter to the pan if needed, then toss in your minced garlic. Sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant – watch it closely, burnt garlic is a no-go! Pour in the chicken broth, scraping up any delicious browned bits from the bottom of the pan. Let it simmer for a minute, then stir in the heavy cream. Bring it to a gentle simmer, then reduce the heat to low.
05 - Stir in the freshly grated Parmesan cheese until it's melted and smooth. Season the sauce with salt and pepper to taste. This is your chance to adjust it – sometimes I add a little pinch of red pepper flakes for a tiny kick. Let it gently thicken for a few minutes. It should coat the back of a spoon. If it gets too thick, a splash more broth or cream will fix it. This luscious sauce is what ties the whole dish together.
06 - Slice your rested steak against the grain into thick pieces. Return the cooked shrimp to the pan with the creamy garlic sauce and gently toss to coat. Spoon the creamy garlic shrimp over the sliced steak. Garnish generously with fresh chopped parsley. The smell at this point is just incredible – garlicky, rich, and savory. Serve immediately and enjoy your homemade Steak & Creamy Garlic Shrimp Dinner. It’s a feast for the eyes and the taste buds!

# Notes:

01 - Always bring your steak to room temperature before cooking for an even sear, trust me on this one!
02 - Leftover sauce and steak can be stored separately; reheating the sauce gently with a splash of broth helps.
03 - If you don't have fresh Parmesan, a good quality pre-grated can work, but avoid the powdery stuff.
04 - Serve with a light green salad or roasted asparagus to balance the richness.

# Tools You'll Need:
